Why is this project focusing on Newton?
Newton is Surrey’s largest town centre and a rapidly growing diverse community. There is a lot of great things going on in Newton, but also a lot that needs to be done!
What is an Enhancement Action Plan?
An Enhancement Action Plan is a tactical plan to beautify and bring vibrancy to the community through short to medium term interventions (1-3 years). It is intended to augment or build on the strengths of a community to make it a more liveable, fun, and attractive place. We are focusing on improving public space to meet the needs of a diverse community.
What is public space?
Public space is a place that is open and accessible to the general public. Roads, parks, greenways, sidewalks and plazas are all considered public space.
What about my long term or really big ideas?
The Focus Newton Enhancement Action Plan is focused on short to medium term projects, we will connect feedback more aligned with long term, strategic or capital planning to the relevant planning and feedback opportunities.
