Outdoor Sport Court Strategy
We are looking for your input to develop a new Outdoor Sport Court Strategy. The strategy will help guide decisions around locating, developing, and funding new and improved sport courts in the city over the next 15 years. The strategy will also explore best practices for designing single and multi-sport courts and for providing supporting amenities in and around courts.
The City of Surrey has over 160 outdoor sport courts that support basketball, tennis, pickleball, volleyball, lacrosse, and ball hockey. These courts are provided in either single-sport or multi-sport layouts. As the City continues to grow and the popularity of individual sports change, the demand for new and improved sport courts increases.
Surrey is a healthy, green, inclusive community where individuals, culture and the environment thrive. The Outdoor Sport Court Strategy will:
- Work with the strategic direction, priorities, plans and policies of the City;
- Account for changes in the City’s diverse communities;
- Reflect trends, best practices and changing expectations related to recreation; and
- Highlight public and stakeholder input in recreation values, needs and expectations.
