Crescent Beach Dog On-Leash Pilot
We are launching a pilot project that will allow on-leash dogs on Crescent Beach's walking path, on weekdays only (excluding Statutory holidays), from July 2 to September 15, 2025.
The goal is to see if allowing dogs on leash during the summer will work well for everyone. Dogs are usually only allowed on the path from September to May. Many people have asked to bring their dogs during the summer, so the city wants to test it out. This pilot project aims to find a balance that works for dog owners and other park visitors.

Where is the Crescent Beach path?
The Crescent Beach path is in Crescent Beach Park. It runs along the oceanfront dyke on the north and west sides of the beach. Nearby, Blackie Spit has an off-leash dog beach and area.
